PROVIDING SHELTER

Haven Ministry creates a strong safety net for residents of the Snyder, Union, and Northumberland counties by providing a broad continuum of services which begins with basic shelter. Once crisis needs are met, programs are offered to foster self-sufficiency. We have helped over 5100 individuals since we opened our doors in 1991.

SUPPLYING FOOD

We do our best to help the community we love and are a part of. In these tough economic times the need for food continues to rise and many who have traditionally been self-sufficient, have suddenly found themselves seeking assistance for basic needs such as food baskets, or hot meals. At Haven, we provide food not only to our clients but we also serve as an emergency food pantry to families and individuals who are referred to us. In 2015 we provided food to 769 adults and 739 children.

Haven Ministry is no ordinary homeless shelter. Our passion is giving people a better life and we are committed to that. When staying at Haven Ministry, residents will feel like part of our family. We make sure everyone is as comfortable as possible and transitional services, including classes about sustainable living are made available. Our staff truly cares about our clients at and give the individuals and families the tools they need to develop long-term solutions with lasting success.

  • Call in and provide First and Last name as well as birth date
    (Used to complete a background check)

  • Must be within Snyder, Union, or Northumberland county for at least 6 months

  • We are always looking for volunteers to help with various tasks as well as potentially teaching classes on life skills. (interviewing, balancing check books, personal hygiene, cooking, etc)
